Apple Tot

This week went a little better with Lady Bells, ok so I bribed her with paint but hey do what works right?!  She was also really excited by all the apples around. And on apple tasting day she was the first at the table! She also set with Lady Jey a lot this week just looking in on what she was doing, this really excites me because she learns a lot more by watching then doing. This was how she learned her letters last year, which I had no idea until this year!
Anyway we worked on identifying colors by coloring in her apple coloring book, which I found on Pintrest.



She was really excited about filling in her chart like the big kids for the apple tasting .


She did a finger painting of an apple tree, but she was only interested in doing the red apples… and making sure to wipe off her fingers after every apple! (she doesn’t like dirty hands)



She worked on pre-writing skills which I am happy to say she finally realized she had to follow the lines not just connect the pictures! YAY!


I didn’t get her to do all of the worksheets in our Collection but at the end of the week she could identify the letter A and knew its sound and I am happy with that!

M for Monkey

My little monkey had fun this week with the letter M. From counting marsh mellows to a little bed jumping, supervised of course! We read 10 little monkeys jumping on the bed and she sang the song for the rest of the week. I gave her the How many game board from our CA Collections and let her act out the story.

Here is a shot of her making the M sound and her notebook at the beginning of the week with all her work inside. She went and found Mickey Mouse because like she said, “ Mommy he sounds like M!” …

B for Ballerina

This week we did our second week of our CA collections. It is surprising to see how far Lady Bells has come since just last year! She is able to remember the letters we are working on along with their sound. This I have to credit to the Leap Frog Letter Factory DVD, she loves the catchy little tune and can be found often singing it. She has also gotten very independent and does most of her notebook by herself. I can already see that I will be searching for new things for her to do very soon!

Reintroduction

I started working on these last year but have not formally introduced them so I will do so now.

CA Collections



Lady Jey and Lady Bells will both be working this year on a letter of the week type format and even though there are some great materials online for this type of thing, we love you Erica!, they were not challenging enough for Lady Jey anymore. So rather then keep pulling things from here and there I decided to create my own things. I work on them all summer and come up with some things that I hope will challenge Lady Jey, for awhile anyway, while still holding Lady Bells’ attention. I got my ideas form some GREAT ladies and would like to thank Erica, Carisa, and a few others…
As the weeks go along I will post these incase anyone of you would like to use them also. Just remember they are for personal use only.
Since we are using Sonlight this year with Lady Jey the collections will be published in the order that the curriculum introduces the letters. I will also at times add more things to individual collections as she outgrows some things so A may be more advanced than Z but I will try to update all of them as time allows.
As this is going out we are working on letter F and the girls seem to be enjoying it as I hope others will also!

CA Collection

 
First of all, THANKS for visiting us. I hope these can help your little one in anyway.
I made these with Lady Jey and Lady Bells in mind, who at the time were 5 and 30 months old. There are lots of awesome material online made by some pretty talented ladies, but at the time I was printing some pages from here and some from there never really having a constant theme. So I decided that the best thing for me to do was make our own collection as to have a complete theme of the pages that they were  able to do. So with that in mind, this is what I created. Understand that as they grows so will the collections, And since we do not do the collections in order B may be more advance than A but I will try to update each collection as time allows.
Please just use these materials for yourself do not host our materials on any website. If you have a blog and post about our material please provide a link back to us here.

Strawberry shortcake JINGO

I have finally finished the JINGO game for Strawberry Shortcake. This one has been an on again off again project. I have to say it turned out beautifully and Lady Jey can not wait to play it!

Beach Theme

Alright so I know the end of summer is fast approaching, but here at CA we would like to hold on to it as long as we can. Although I was born literally on the ocean most of the children have never seen it, but they still LOVE the water and playing in the made man beaches around home.
Lady Jey asked last week if we could go to the beach so without spending the gas money to get there I made her a unit of "At the beach" MORE TO COME.....

S for StrawBerry

Lady Jey and Lady Bells LOVE StarwBerry ShortCake so I thought what better way to learn S and about fruits at the same time! I hope someone out there can enjoy this as much as us. It is filled with 75 pages of fun learning activities! Can't wait to use it with Lady Jey. So without further ramblings here it is...

StrawBerry Shortcake- Guess Who?!

Here is our first game...

It is played just as the family favorite, Guess Who. We Laminated our and used either Bingo Chips or dry erase markers to mark off the characters. Lady Jey enjoys this game and has learned properly the process of elimination and has brought this skill over to other areas in her schooling. I hope one of you out there enjoys this game as much as we have!

B for Bird

     I was not anticipating this collection, it just came to me. As you might know we will be starting Apologia Science for our summer quarter (I gave the kids another week off, to get things ready). I decided to start with Zoo 1, which for those who know is centered around flying creatures. I decided to break it in half, doing the first half, birds and bats, during this summer, and the second half, bugs, during next summer. This will give us a break with the Apologia text, in which we will fill in with MFW science.
     So I decided what better way to include Lady Jey in the studies but with her own bird unit! So here it is...

P for Princess!

Ok, so if your on this page it means that you are checking out my printables! I am in no way claiming the awesomeness for some of those  creatively blessed moms nor the "seasoned" moms, I simply just know what Lady Jey likes. So using a collection of ideas from COAH, Carisa, and too many more to list, I have come up with a collect that contains Lady Jey's favorite exercises. We are trying, since she will be 5, to do more "school" but I am still trying to make it fun for her. So thinking in these terms, what better way to keep it fun then to use themes she likes, and of course princess had to be first. I know, there are plenty of this theme already created, some from the sites mentioned above, but what better feeling is there to know your child is learning from something you created with him/her in mind, and that is my reward for all the time put into these, "Our collections at CA"
